Not that I'm aware of, I think what they were trying to convey is that when the bike rack is mounted at the rear of the towed vehicle, it will experience some sway while going down the road. Overtime, this will wear out the bike rack if it is not reinforced or rated for this application, thus, causing damage to your rack; which is why the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 is not listed for applications involving flat towing.

There is a lock on the knob which prevents the anti-rattle mechanism from being loosened and that is what secures it to your vehicle. From my research on the 2011 Honda Pilot, the backup camera is located above the center of the rear license plate below the Honda emblem. I called my contact at Kuat, and he told me that the measurement of the hitch pin hole to the tallest part with only two trays on the rack (when folded) on the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack # BA22B-BA02B is 24-3/4 inches. The first thing you'd want to do is lubricate all the spots where the rack pivots. A spray lubricant containing silicone would be perfect. Avoid the temptation to use WD-40, as it can attract dust and road gunk. While you're working the latch, have a helper apply some upward force on the rear of the rack. Since the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack, part # S64670 is a fixed rack it will interfere with the opening of the tailgate on your 2017 Tacoma, but when empty and the center mast folded down you would be able to open the topper hatch with no problem.

There is always going to be some bounce with a hitch-mounted bike rack, even the top racks like your Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202. And while I can't say for sure if yours is bouncing more than it should without having seen it, I can assure you the rack won't snap off.

Either rack would likely interfere with the camera to a degree, as the camera sits at the top of the license plate, but because the Transfer's frame is U-shaped with only the arms that hold the bike wheels in place going across, they will interfere much less than those of the Sherpa # SH22G would. The Sherpa is a more traditional design with a central rib and transverse mounted rails that the bikes would sit on. These structures would be much more likely to interfere with the camera.

Just like the Thule Helium Pro, the Thule Apex does not tilt down with bikes loaded. It fact, there is only one hanging bike rack that tilts down with bikes loaded, the Softride Hang2 2-Bike Rack # SR27041.
This is because there would be too much stress on the cradles - the lower the bikes got the more they'd twist - and because the rack arms would no longer be horizontal and have a place for the bikes to rest on. The Softride is different because the bikes hang vertically.
